Popular Guy Unpopular Girl Romance Manga (some have an anime)

Hey guys,

This is a post I started writing who knows how many years ago. Anyway, as the title states, this is a list of romance manga with an unpopular female MC and a popular ML. This listing will include some of the most endearing female and male lead characters that exist. When I was younger, it was a dynamic I loved reading about. Who doesn't love the classic scene of everyone being shocked that the two are dating or the male lead protecting and defending the female lead from mean girls? Now, being a little older, although I still love these stories and re-read them over and over again, my heart breaks more for the female MC (who are now younger than I am) as they deal with these struggles. My cheering for them and their happiness has grown from the cheer of a friend on the other side of the screen who wants to smack the bullies to that of an almost older sister who wishes she (the MC) would see her worth and be happy and smile (and yeah, still sometimes wanna smack those bullies, sometimes, I promise.)
